the pretty blue bottle is actually olive oil used on the salad  an arbequena varietal extra virgin olive oil ... you will find it has a smoke flavor

 

 

this salad also has white anchovies ( milder in taste ) and Marcona almonds from Spain

 

 

the Paella Valenciana was made with a good Spanish chorizo  ... there are many kinds.... so read the labels .....there are several to choose from and some are picante ( spicy) and some are milder...... so choose the one best suited for you  ......also some recipes call for fresh, you will find this at a good butcher

 

just because it is yummy..... Flatiron Steak with Romesco  this recipe used the almonds as well .......

MICHAEL SYMON , BANK OF AMERICA , A GREAT VIEW AND THE WIND ...... OH MY

Earlier this summer I was on remote in Brooklyn with  BANK OF AMERICA AND MICHAEL SYMON.... and our sunny perfect day turned into a gale....
But Michael was ever the professional and commented that he had the hairdo for the windy day.... There was not pretty styling that day the goal was just to keep the food on the table in not in the Hudson River......

first thing when the sun came up we had this for a set all good and looking promising ... yes we got there in the dark

and what a great view

 

 

and then the wind started picking up

 

AND BY THE END OF THE DAY THERE WAS A 35# WEIGHT UNDER THE TABLECLOTH, AND SANDBAGS

MOTHERS DAY AT " LIVE WITH KELLY AND MICHAEL"

 

Three of the MOM's cooked this year and all three recipes are worth a look...they are just a good bunch of MOMs .... here are some fun pictures ... but there is one special one.. While waiting on rehearsal ... I was in the kitchen on  the set and Mrs. Strahan and "The cake thief " where  just hanging out in the front row of the audience seating... and I looked up and noticed Kelly and Michael watching over them ......it was a very sweet image ..... always fun to have the MOMs
